feat(ui): offer maps, layouts, tables and label classes as values in the Script pane - #842
In the Script pane, a "map": ", "layout": ", "table": " or "class": " value now offers what the project holds, as Run finds it, in commands that take that key:
Maps and layouts: of two named alike (case aside), the first, the one Run resolves. Help: the map's layer count, the layout's page size (mm, rounded as the layout view shows it).
Standalone tables: those find_table resolves by their name. Help: Table · N rows.
Label classes of the line's layer (wherever "layer" sits on the line): the listed classes as they are matched, then Default, which is left out where the command refuses it (labels.class.remove, labels.class.move). A listed class named as Default is never offered, since Run always finds Default first. Help: its where clause, or "Every feature".
Each kind has its icon (map, layout, table, label). labels.class.add's "from" is left out for now. The user guide (Analysis › Script) mentions the new values.
Recommendation for the maintainer
Whether a "class" value offers Default is read from the command's description: "class": name (not Default). It would help to document this convention, e.g. in CommandSpec::params' doc comment, so a new command that refuses Default says so the same way. The new test a_class_description_says_whether_default_is_refused guards it: it runs every command that takes "class" with the Default class, and checks that it is refused exactly when its description says (not Default).
Testing
cargo xtask ci passes.
New tests in scriptcomplete.rs: project_items_are_offered_for_their_values (every key, case aside, commands that don't take the key, the layer written after the class, remove without Default, a missing layer, names alike but for case), project_items_have_help_and_icons, a_class_description_says_whether_default_is_refused.
Manual, on the World Atlas sample: map.rename, layout.rename (A4 portrait shows 210 × 297 mm), share.exportTable with a CSV table, labels.class.update (Big, then Default), labels.class.remove (Big only), the class offered with "layer" after it, map.goToXY offers nothing, a quoted name is escaped on accept.
Script autocomplete now suggests matching project maps, layouts, standalone tables, and label classes.
Suggestions include helpful details such as map layer counts, table row counts, and layout dimensions. Label class suggestions reflect the current layer, with “Default” shown last when applicable.
Documentation
Updated the user guide with details about the available script autocomplete suggestions.
Script-pane autocomplete now suggests project maps, layouts, standalone tables, and label classes for matching command values. Suggestions apply name matching and duplicate handling, and include item help and icons. The user guide documents the available suggestions and displayed metadata.

Summary
Suggestion types and matching crates/ui-egui/src/scriptcomplete.rs
Autocomplete adds map, layout, table, and label-class value types. It matches names case-insensitively, keeps the first matching map, layout, and table name, and deduplicates class names. Class suggestions use the line’s layer and place Default last or omit it when the command description specifies (not Default). Tests cover suggestion behavior and Default handling.
Help, icons, and documentation crates/ui-egui/src/scriptcomplete.rs, docs/user-guide/analysis.md
Suggestions include map layer counts, rounded layout dimensions, table row counts, and class filters or “Every feature,” along with icons. Tests cover help and icons. The user guide describes the suggestion types and displayed metadata.

Explanation
PR #800 requires project-backed suggestions for maps, layouts, standalone tables, and the line layer's label classes. The PR evidence reports these suggestions only for commands that take the matching key, uses Run's first case-insensitive name match, limits classes to the resolved layer, handles Default from the command description, and provides prefix matching, help text, kind-specific icons, and JSON-string acceptance. The reviewed source contains Of::Maps, Of::Layouts, Of::Tables, and Of::Classes(u32). The reported tests cover all keys, command filtering, layer placement, case-only name matches, help, icons, Default handling, and acceptance. The user guide is updated. The reported exclusions match #800: layout elements, gp.run tool parameters, and labels.class.add's "from" value are not implemented.

A rabbit taps the keys with care, Maps and layouts bloom from there. Tables hop in, classes join, Default waits at the end of line. Small icons gleam beside each name, The rabbit bounds away, autocomplete tamed.

I reviewed the scriptcomplete.rs changes and the matching docs paragraph. I found no bugs, security issues or AGENTS.md violations. I read the diff only; I didn't build or run the tests.
Bugs
None found.
The value offers for "map", "layout", "table" and "class" are built consistently with how Run looks names up. firsts lowercases with ASCII, matching the eq_ignore_ascii_case used in item_help. find_table decides which table of a duplicated name is offered. Default is placed last and dropped when the command says (not Default). A listed class named like Default is filtered out, matching the "Default before the listed ones" lookup order. Confidence: medium-high.
is_value() is now a negated matches! over the key variants, so a future Of variant counts as a value by default. That is fine today, but anyone adding a key-style variant must remember to list it there. Confidence: low.
Security
None. All input is read only, and nothing in the change panics. Lookups use ? and Option.
Performance
refuses_default parses the command's parameter description on each completion request. The cost is small and it runs only while a "class" value is open. Confidence: low.
Quality
"{n} layers" reads "1 layers" for a one-layer map. This is a nit, and the string is only translated at release time. Confidence: low.
The Of::Classes help branch trims the item for the Default comparison but passes it untrimmed to labels.class(item). That is harmless if class() trims or compares exactly. Confidence: low.
a_class_description_says_whether_default_is_refused checks the (not Default) text against real command behaviour. This is a good guard against the description and the behaviour drifting apart.
AGENTS.md
New interface strings use tl! and i18n::fmt, and the catalogs don't need updating in the PR.
No unwrap() appears in non-test code. The unwraps are all in tests.
The icon names map, new_layout, table and label are assumed to exist in icons.rs. I did not check them. Confidence: medium.
Docs are updated.

Nit (low confidence): the "table" offer calls find_table for every table, and each call scans the list (up to three passes), so offering is O(n²) in the number of standalone tables. It runs on each keystroke while the list is open. Fine for a handful of tables, but a project with many imported tables would feel it. Collecting the first index per exact name into a HashMap would avoid that, though it would have to match find_table's fallback order.
The PR adds Script-pane completions for "map", "layout", "table" and "class" values, with help text and icons, tests and a docs paragraph. I found no bugs and no AGENTS.md violations. I only read the code and ran no tests or builds. I checked the find_table and LabelSet::class lookups against the new offer, help and icon code, and the new code matches them.
Bugs
None found. The new code follows the lookup rules the engine uses:
Tables:find_table picks the first table of a name.
Classes: the classes are capped at MAX_LABEL_CLASSES, Default is listed last, and a listed class named like Default is dropped.
Help: the label-class help uses LabelSet::class and handles the Default-named case.
Security
None. The change only reads session state to build completion lists.
Performance
Table offer is O(n²) (low confidence): the "table" offer calls find_table once per table, and each call scans the list. It runs on each keystroke while the list is open, so many standalone tables could make typing sluggish. I left an inline comment on crates/ui-egui/src/scriptcomplete.rs.
Quality
refuses_default depends on description wording (low confidence): it finds the "not Default" case by searching for the text (not Default) in a command's parameter description. That text could be reworded by accident. The new test a_class_description_says_whether_default_is_refused checks this against what each command actually does, which mitigates the risk.
is_value default flipped (nit): it is now a negated list of key variants (!matches!(…)), so a new Of variant counts as a value unless someone adds it to the key list. That suits this enum, but it is worth knowing.
The table closure in item_help removes the duplicated "Table · n rows" code. The tests cover the new behaviour well, including the case-only duplicates and the commands that refuse Default.
AGENTS.md
No panics: the non-test code adds no unwrap, expect or indexing. The test code's unwrap and indexing are allowed.
Translations: the new interface strings go through tl! and i18n::fmt.
Docs: the docs are updated.
Layering: the new code stays in the egui crate.

Remove repeated table lookups.
When a project has many standalone tables, Line 482 scans the table list once per table while building suggestions. value_ids already removes repeated exact names, so passing the names directly preserves the suggested names and avoids quadratic work on the Script pane’s UI path. Case-different names must remain separate because find_table resolves exact names first. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
