fix(map): zoom in to site plans and finds drawings, past 1:1 - #923
The map stopped zooming in at about 1:535: the camera's fixed minimum of 0.15 m per pixel (MIN_RES), about web-tile level 20. That rules out excavation plans at 1:20 and 1:10 and finds drawings at 1:1. Projection and datum accuracy don't justify the limit: coordinates are f64 throughout, and datum or projection errors move a whole site together, so geometry within a trench holds well under a millimetre at 1:1. Web basemaps already overzoom past their last level.
Map view:MIN_RES is now 1e-4 map units per pixel, past 2:1 anywhere (about 2.8:1 at the equator on Web Mercator, more at higher latitudes).
Scales larger than life read and type as ratios: the status bar shows and accepts 2:1, as do layer visibility scales and the layout {scale} text (graphics::scale_ratio). Distances under a metre read in cm or mm (under half a millimetre in tenths, then < 0.1 mm), so the scale bar doesn't say 0 m. rustgis_geom::format_distance is shared, so this also changes the UI's metric measurement text and one network-analysis error message; directions and routing keep their own formatter.
Layouts: map frames range from 2:1 to the whole world (MIN_FRAME_SCALE/MAX_FRAME_SCALE, replacing nine 100.0, 1e10 literals). Fitting a frame to a feature works down to a millimetre (a lone point still gets a metre around it), and Auto scale bars count in cm or mm.
Animations keep scales larger than life (camera::scale_between, shared by playback and export, which clamped at 1:1).
GPU renderer: it tessellates whole features as f32 offsets from the centre of the drawn features' extent and doesn't clip, so at 1:1 a country-sized polygon landed off screen (the fill vanished). A mesh whose vertices reach past what f32 holds at the zoom (2²³ px, gpu_scene::f32_holds) now returns TessError::Imprecise and takes the existing CPU fallback, which clips in f64. SceneBuffers::fits also stops the camera fast path from stretching a coarse mesh past that precision.
Behaviour change on the GPU renderer: large features (an Italy-sized polygon) already pass the f32 bound at about 1:500, so they now draw on the CPU there, and the country outline the GPU renderer used to drop at that zoom comes back. The CPU renderer (the default) is unchanged.
Not covered: overzoomed vector-tile basemaps may sit about 2 px off on the GPU renderer at 1:1 (each tile's mesh is relative to its corner), and extrusions, which only draw in tilted views. Clipping meshes in f64 around the view would let the GPU handle any zoom itself; that's a larger renderer change for a separate PR.
New tests: the camera reaches 1:20, 1:10, 1:1 and 2:1 at 0°, 46.5° and 70°; scale ratios and cm/mm distances (ties, signs, NaN/∞); typed 2:1, 2.5:1, 4/1; Auto scale-bar units; a 2:1 frame camera; layout frames at 1:20 and clamped at 2:1 (engine); animation interpolation past life size; a GPU scene at the deepest zoom draws a large square on the CPU with its edge in the right place (fails with the fallback disabled), and is still a mesh zoomed out.
ui_shot on the World Atlas sample at the Austria/Italy border, 1:500, 1:1 and 2:1, CPU and GPU (RUSTGIS_GPU): before, the GPU frame at 1:1 was empty; after, both renderers draw the border through the centre with a 2 cm scale bar, and the status bar reads 2:1.
The map stopped at about 1:535 (MIN_RES 0.15 m per pixel), which rules out
excavation plans at 1:20 and finds drawings at 1:1 (opengeos#902). It now zooms past 2:1.
- Camera: MIN_RES 1e-4 map units per pixel.
- Scales larger than life read and type as ratios (2:1) in the status bar,
layer visibility scales and layout text; distances under a metre read in
cm or mm.
- Layout map frames range from 2:1 (MIN_FRAME_SCALE) to the whole world,
fit features down to a millimetre, and Auto scale bars count in cm or mm.
- Animations keep scales larger than life (camera::scale_between).
- GPU renderer: meshes whose vertices reach past what f32 holds at the zoom
(TessError::Imprecise) are drawn by the CPU, which clips in f64; the camera
fast path is not stretched past that precision.

Summary
Close-up scale and frame limits crates/map/src/camera.rs, crates/map/src/layout.rs, crates/geom/src/lib.rs
Camera resolution and layout frame limits now permit closer views. Layout fitting and automatic scale-bar units handle smaller extents. Distance formatting adds millimetre and centimetre output.
Scale labels use reciprocal ratios, and scale entry accepts reciprocal forms. Commands and interface controls use shared scale bounds and interpolation. Documentation describes close-up scales.
GPU precision checks and CPU fallback crates/render/src/{gpu_scene.rs,mesh.rs,lib.rs}, crates/ui-egui/src/mapgpu.rs
Mesh origins and scene reuse now check whether geometry reach fits f32 precision at the current resolution. Imprecise tessellation can use CPU rendering.

MIN_RES drops 1500× (0.15 → 1e-4), for every map, tile layer, raster and CRS, not just layouts. Two things to check (confidence: medium-low):
The doc comment now says "map units per pixel", but the old 0.15 and the "about 1:500 / about 3:1" claims only hold for Web Mercator metres. In a degree-based CRS, 1e-4 degrees/px is about 11 m/px, so the limit is not "3:1" there. Is the limit per-CRS? If not, say so in the comment.
At 1e-4 m/px the CPU path puts coordinates around 1e9–1e10 px from the view. render/src/lib.rs only gates the f32 mesh path (reach/Imprecise). Raster tiles, rasters, labels, symbols and tiny-skia paths are not covered. The new test checks one square layer on the CPU. A raster/tile-layer case at MIN_RES would show whether those degrade gracefully (blurry, blank or NaN) rather than panic.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Map projections are always in metres or feet. A degree-based CRS can't be the map projection: Projector::new refuses it (Projector::new("EPSG:4326").is_err() in crates/map/src/projection.rs). The doc comment on MIN_RES now says this, and that the closest zoom is past 2:1 on every map (52cceb9).
The CPU renderer clips paths in f64 (clip_ring/clip_line) before tiny-skia sees them. Rasters sample each screen pixel back into the raster, and tile pictures are placed with affine, computed in f64. I added a_raster_at_the_closest_zoom_is_drawn_where_it_is, which renders a raster at MIN_RES with its edge through the middle of the view and checks both sides. The remaining limit is in the PR description: overzoomed low-max-zoom vector tiles on the GPU renderer, about 2 px.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
ext is in the map's flat projected units and is multiplied by per (ground_per_unit). The new floor 1e-3 is a millimetre only when those units are metres. In a degree-based CRS it is about 111 m, where the old floor of 1.0 was a whole degree. A vertical or horizontal line extent, with one zero dimension, then gets a floor that depends on the CRS. Consider flooring in ground metres after multiplying by per, e.g. (ext.width() * per).max(floor_m). Confidence: medium-low.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in 52cceb9: the floor now applies in ground metres after multiplying by ground_per_unit, so a lone point gets 1 m and anything larger 1 mm in every projection (metres or feet; degree CRSs aren't map projections).
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
format_distance is shared by measurements, the status bar and tools. Any caller whose distance is under 1 m now reads 30 cm or 5 mm instead of 0 m/1 m, and sub-metre values in Imperial or other contexts may still be metric-only. Check that existing tests and golden strings elsewhere (e.g. grep "0 m") are still green. Also, m * 1000.0 and m * 100.0 are inexact, so the "ties round away from zero" tests (0.0045, 0.0095, 0.995) depend on float representation. Confidence: low.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Checked. rustgis_geom::format_distance is called by the map's scale bar, the UI's metric measurement text and one network-analysis error message. Directions and routing have their own formatter. cargo xtask ci passes on 52cceb9 (2,287 tests), so no golden 0 m string is affected. Imperial measurements go through measure_units, which already keeps small values. The tie cases are exact in f64: 0.0045 * 1000.0, 0.0095 * 1000.0 and 0.995 * 100.0 are exactly 4.5, 9.5 and 99.5.
I read the whole diff and checked fit_scale against the surrounding source. I did not build or run anything, so the tests and cargo xtask ci are unverified.
The PR makes zooming and layout frames work at site-plan and finds-drawing scales (#902). It lowers MIN_RES, adds MIN_FRAME_SCALE and MAX_FRAME_SCALE, formats sub-metre distances and N:1 scales, and falls back to CPU drawing when f32 mesh vertices lose precision. The logic is mostly sound and well tested.
Bugs
fit_scale floor depends on the CRS (crates/map/src/layout.rs:1249, medium-low confidence). The 1e-3 floor is applied to projected units before multiplying by ground_per_unit. In a degree-based CRS it is about 111 m, where the old floor was a whole degree. Flooring in ground metres after the multiplication would behave the same in every CRS.
Performance and robustness
MIN_RES is now 1e-4, down from 0.15 (crates/map/src/camera.rs:9, medium-low confidence). It applies to every map, tile layer, raster and CRS.
The "map units per pixel" and "about 3:1" wording only holds for Web Mercator metres.
Only the f32 mesh path is guarded (Imprecise/reach). Rasters, tile layers, labels and CPU paths at about 1e9 px offsets have no test. Please add one at MIN_RES.
Quality
format_distance is shared widely (crates/geom/src/lib.rs:328, low confidence). Sub-metre values now print as cm or mm, so check any golden strings elsewhere that expect 0 m. The tie-rounding tests also depend on float representation.
AGENTS.md
No violations found in the changed lines. I saw no unwrap, expect or panic! in non-test code, and the new scale_between, scale_ratio and parse_scale paths handle NaN, infinite and non-positive input. The wasm and layering rules are respected, since web_time is untouched and render and map take no new UI dependencies.
The new interface strings go through tl! or scale_ratio. Docs are updated.

I read the full diff and the surrounding source. I couldn't build or run anything, so the findings below come from reading the code only. I found no blocking bugs. The change lowers the map and layout frame scale limits so site plans (1:20) and finds drawings (1:1 to 2:1) work (#902).
Bugs
None found. I traced these edge cases and they hold:
scale_ratio and parse_scale round-trip for 2:1, 1.4:1 and 2,000:1.
format_distance handles NaN and infinity as it did before. Its tie-rounding branches agree with the new tests.
origin_for returns Imprecise for NaN or zero map_per_px, which falls back to the CPU path, so it can't panic.
MIN_FRAME_SCALE = 0.5 keeps the frame camera above MIN_RES = 1e-4 at every latitude, since Web Mercator units only get larger toward the poles. (low risk)
Security
None found. The new parsing and float handling are bounded and finite-checked.
Performance
SceneBuffers::fits now returns false once the camera zooms in past reach. A scene that is already too deep for f32 is drawn again on every camera move instead of being re-projected. This is the intended trade-off and only applies at extreme zoom. (low confidence it matters)
Quality
The scale limits are now shared constants (MIN_FRAME_SCALE, MAX_FRAME_SCALE) in place of the repeated 100.0, 1e10 literals. scale_between also replaces two copies of the animation interpolation. Both are good consolidations.
view_frame in crates/engine/src/cmd/layout.rs now has a single line well over 140 characters. Run cargo fmt if cargo xtask ci doesn't already cover it. (low confidence)
parse_scale accepts 25k:1, which gives 1/25000. It is harmless, but it is probably not an intended input form. (nit)
AGENTS.md
I saw no unwrap, expect or unsafe in non-test code. The new tests use panic!, which is allowed there.
The change adds regression tests for the new limits, formatting and rendering.
User docs are updated.
The UI text uses existing helpers. The new "mm", "cm" and "< 0.1 mm" strings are unit labels in format_distance. ScaleUnits::resolve uses "mm" and "cm" too. Check whether those need tl! the way the existing "km" and "m" do.
Change size
Compared: the whole PR against main (merge base 894f8b3 to PR head 52cceb9)
Line length: no line this PR adds in crates/engine/src/cmd/layout.rs is over the repo's max_width = 140, and cargo fmt --check passes in CI. The long lines in that file were already there (command parameter strings).
25k:1: parses as 1:0.00004 and clamps to the closest zoom. It's harmless, so I've left the parser as is.
Unit labels: format_distance and ScaleUnits::resolve don't translate km and m either. Units stay as SI symbols, so mm and cm follow them.
When ScaleUnits::Auto selects centimetres or millimetres, the label “Automatic (m or km)” gives users incorrect information about the available units. Update the label and the enum documentation to include cm and mm.

@coderabbitai On the outside-diff note at crates/map/src/layout.rs:590: fixed in 927deba. The Auto option now reads Automatic (mm to km), and the ScaleUnits::Auto doc comment lists millimetres, centimetres, metres and kilometres. The old string's translations in the interface catalogs fall back to English until they're retranslated, as the repo handles new strings. cargo xtask ci passes (2,287 tests).

Nit: total_m == 0.0 (or a negative or NaN-adjacent value) now matches < 0.01 and resolves to mm, where it used to resolve to m. A zero-length bar would show 0 mm where it showed 0 m. Guarding with total_m > 0.0 && keeps the old fallback. Confidence: low.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
A zero-length bar never draws. scale_bar in crates/render/src/layout.rs resolves the unit from nice_distance(room_m), and when that is 0 the total is 0 too. It then returns (if total <= 0.0 { return; }) before any label is made, so resolve(0.0) choosing mm is never shown. I've left it as is.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
format_distance is shared by measurement tools, attribute readouts and the status bar, not only scale bars. Every distance under 1 m now reads in cm or mm (0.3 m becomes 30 cm). That's reasonable, but it's a global behaviour change driven by a layout feature. Check that existing UI, CLI and doc outputs and snapshot tests expecting 0 m or 1 m for small values still hold, and consider mentioning it in the PR description. Confidence: medium-low.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Intended, and now in the PR description. rustgis_geom::format_distance is called by the map's scale bar, the UI's metric measurement text and one network-analysis error message. Directions and routing (tiles/src/routing.rs) have their own formatter, and imperial text goes through measure_units. No test or doc expects 0 m for a sub-metre value: cargo xtask ci passes on 927deba (2,287 tests).
I found no blocking problems. This PR extends zoom and map-frame scale limits so site plans and finds drawings are possible: the camera's MIN_RES goes from 0.15 to 1e-4, and the frame scale floor drops from 1:100 to 2:1. I read the diff only; nothing was built or run, so I haven't run the new tests.
I checked these areas:
MIN_RES change: its only users are the clamp in camera.rs and the fit routine's MIN_RES * 2.0 floor. At 2:1 on the equator a frame camera has a resolution of about 1.3e-4, which stays above the new MIN_RES.
Number handling in the new code:scale_between, scale_ratio and format_distance handle NaN, infinity, zero and negative inputs without panicking. There is no new unwrap, expect, indexing or unsafe in non-test code.
f32 precision guard:origin_for and reach fall back to the CPU renderer or redraw the scene when f32 can no longer hold the vertices. The new Imprecise error variant is handled at the one match site I found. Tile meshes are excluded because each is anchored to its own tile corner.
Decimal-comma layouts:decimal(scale_ratio(..)) gives 2,5:1 and 1:12.345, which matches the old output for the 1:N case.
Scale parsing:parse_scale handles 2:1 through recursion, and inputs such as 1:2:1, 0:1 and :1 return None.
Bugs
None found.
Quality
Medium-low confidence (crates/geom/src/lib.rs:340): format_distance is shared by measurement tools and readouts, so every distance under 1 m now shows in cm or mm (0.3 m becomes 30 cm). That is a global change driven by a layout feature. Check existing snapshot and documentation outputs that expect 0 m or 1 m, and consider saying so in the PR description.
Low confidence (crates/map/src/layout.rs:613): ScaleUnits::Auto.resolve(0.0) now returns mm where it used to return m. Adding a total_m > 0.0 guard would keep the old result.
Security
None found.
Performance
None found. The CPU fallback at extreme zoom is intentional and covered by tests. I did not check whether the CPU renderer's other paths (labels, vector tiles) cope with very large pixel coordinates at MIN_RES.
AGENTS.md
No violations found. The changes follow the never-crash rules and the layering. The new tests cover the new behaviour, but I did not check whether hostile_params_never_panic also covers the layout.update scale values now accepted.
The new UI strings are Automatic (mm to km) and the mm and cm units. The label is a ScaleUnits::label() literal in the map crate, and the unit names come from format_distance. I did not check how the UI translates the label.

maintainer translates them before each release. To translate a new string, add a line with the
exact English text, a tab, and the translation. Keep `{placeholders}` such as `{n}` or `{name}`
(they may move), keep the line break (`\n`) in two-line ribbon labels, and leave product, format
and key names (RustGIS, GeoJSON, CSV, Ctrl…) in English. The `i18n` tests check every catalog's format and
placeholders:
```sh
cargo test -p rustgis-ui-egui i18n
```

Low-confidence nit: the N:1 branch reuses the denominator parser, which reads a dot followed by three digits as thousands grouping (12.345 is 12345). So 1.234:1 is read as 1234:1, giving a scale of 1:0.0008, not 1.234:1. The status bar only ever shows one decimal below 10, so this only affects hand-typed input. It's worth a test, or a rule that the N:1 form treats . as a decimal point.

Good catch, fixed in d0b59c0. In the N:1 form a dot is now a decimal point (1.234:1, 1.5:1). Commas still group thousands, so the status bar's own 2,000:1 reads back. k/m suffixes are rejected there (25k:1). The tests cover those and malformed input (1.2.3:1, .:1). cargo xtask ci passes (2,322 tests).
I read the diff and the surrounding code, and found no blocking problems. I could not build or run anything, so none of this was tested. I checked that the 100.0, 1e10 clamps were all replaced, that format_distance and scale_ratio handle NaN, infinity, signs and rounding ties, and that the GPU f32 fallback is wired through every collect_* caller and SceneBuffers::fits. I also checked the layout and ribbon scale edits and the new tests.
Bugs
Low confidence: typing N:1 goes through the existing denominator parser, which reads a dot followed by three digits as thousands grouping. 1.234:1 therefore becomes 1234:1, a scale of 1:0.0008, where the user meant 1.234:1. The status bar displays at most one decimal, so only hand-typed input is affected. Details are in the inline comment on crates/ui-egui/src/chrome.rs.
Very low confidence:ScaleUnits::Auto.resolve(0.0) or a negative total returns mm, because total_m < 0.01 also catches those values. A zero-length bar would show "0 mm". NaN still falls through to m.
Security
Nothing found. The new f32 and NaN guards fail towards the CPU path, since f32_holds is false for NaN.
Performance
Medium-low confidence: large features now take the CPU fallback on the GPU renderer from about 1:500, much earlier than before, as the PR description says. Each fallback flushes the GPU accumulator and draws that layer on the CPU. A map with several country-sized layers could be noticeably slower at those zooms. The default renderer is unaffected.
Quality
format_distance is shared, so UI metric measurements and one network-analysis error message now show 50 cm or 5 mm where they used to show "1 m" or "0 m". This is intended and the PR description says so, but check that no test or doc elsewhere expects the old text.
scale_between treats a scale that is not a positive number as 1:1, which is a silent change from the old max(1.0) clamp. Reasonable, and it is covered by a test.
The constants MIN_FRAME_SCALE and MAX_FRAME_SCALE replace nine duplicated literals, which is a clear improvement.
AGENTS.md
No unwrap, expect or panic! was added in non-test code, and the new code does not touch wasm-specific paths.
tl! was not needed for the new text. The "mm to km" label sits in ScaleUnits::label, which already goes through the existing path. The PR description reports cargo xtask ci and the wasm build as green.

1.234:1 was read as 1234:1 through the denominator's thousands grouping.
Commas still group thousands (2,000:1, as the status bar shows it); k and m
suffixes aren't times-life-size forms.

format_distance is shared by the measurement tools, so every sub-metre result changes (e.g. 0.3 m now reads 30 cm), not only scale bars. That seems intended but isn't mentioned in the docs. NaN also falls through every new branch to the km branch (as before), so an explicit !m.is_finite() early return would be clearer. Confidence: medium on the behaviour change, low on NaN.

Intended, and covered earlier (reply). The PR description lists the callers this changes: the scale bar, the metric measurement text and one network-analysis error. A non-finite input produces the same text it did before this PR, so I've kept that behaviour rather than change it here.

Inconsistent dot semantics: 1.234 parses as 1:1,234 (dot groups thousands), but 1.234:1 is 1.234× life size. The comment and tests document this. Also, the status bar always displays 1.5:1 with a dot, while a decimal-comma user typing 1,5:1 gets None (a comma needs three digits after it). Works, but easy to trip over. Confidence: low (design nit).

This is deliberate. A plain denominator keeps its existing reading of 1.234 as grouped thousands, and the N:1 form reads numbers as the status bar writes them: a dot is a decimal point and commas group thousands (2,000:1). Both are documented in the parser comment and tests. A decimal comma in N:1 (1,5:1) would make 2,000:1 ambiguous, so it's left out.
The change lets maps and layout frames zoom past 1:100 to site-plan and finds scales (#902). I found no blocking bugs. I read the diff and checked the other users of MIN_RES and the highlight fallback. I did not build the code or run the tests.
Bugs
None found. Details checked:
The format_distance unit boundaries (0.0096 → 1 cm, 0.996 → 1 m, negatives).
scale_ratio around 1.0, NaN and ≤ 0.
scale_between with non-positive or NaN input.
The f32-reach fallback. A TessError::Imprecise result falls through to the CPU path in collect_layer, collect_basemap, collect_graticule and collect_highlight, and SceneBuffers::fits forces a redraw.
MIN_RES = 1e-4 against MIN_FRAME_SCALE = 0.5. The frame camera stays above MIN_RES on Web Mercator.
Security
None. No new unwrap, panic or unsafe code. Parsing of typed scales stays bounded and rejects exponents.
Performance
Low confidence: SceneBuffers::fits now returns false once zoomed in past the f32 reach. The scene is then redrawn on every zoom step in that range, which is probably intended. Scenes that fall back to the CPU image are redrawn rather than re-projected.
Quality
Medium confidence (crates/geom/src/lib.rs:335): format_distance is shared by the measurement tools. Every sub-metre value now changes unit (0.3 m reads 30 cm), not only scale bars. This looks intended but isn't documented. NaN also falls through every new branch, so an explicit non-finite early return would be clearer.
Low confidence (crates/ui-egui/src/chrome.rs:448): the scale parser reads a dot as grouping thousands in 1.234 but as a decimal point in 1.234:1. The status bar always shows a dot, so a decimal-comma user typing 1,5:1 gets no match. The code comments and tests cover this, but it is easy to trip over.
Nit: the repeated long clamp(rustgis_map::layout::MIN_FRAME_SCALE, …) calls in engine/src/cmd/layout.rs could use a small clamp_frame_scale helper. A use import would also shorten them.
AGENTS.md
The change follows the guidelines: no new unwrap in non-test code, regression tests added, and docs updated. The new scale-bar unit labels such as "Automatic (mm to km)" are only the label string in map/layout.rs, and I did not check whether the UI passes it through tl!.
The PR adds new interface strings without catalog entries, which AGENTS.md allows.

Summary
The map stopped zooming in at about 1:535: the camera's fixed minimum of 0.15 m per pixel (
MIN_RES), about web-tile level 20. Web basemaps already overzoom past their last level.MIN_RESis now 1e-4 map units per pixel, past 2:1 anywhere (about 2.8:1 at the equator on Web Mercator, more at higher latitudes).2:1, as do layer visibility scales and the layout{scale}text (graphics::scale_ratio). Distances under a metre read in cm or mm (under half a millimetre in tenths, then< 0.1 mm), so the scale bar doesn't say0 m.rustgis_geom::format_distanceis shared, so this also changes the UI's metric measurement text and one network-analysis error message; directions and routing keep their own formatter.MIN_FRAME_SCALE/MAX_FRAME_SCALE, replacing nine100.0, 1e10literals). Fitting a frame to a feature works down to a millimetre (a lone point still gets a metre around it), and Auto scale bars count in cm or mm.camera::scale_between, shared by playback and export, which clamped at 1:1).gpu_scene::f32_holds) now returnsTessError::Impreciseand takes the existing CPU fallback, which clips in f64.SceneBuffers::fitsalso stops the camera fast path from stretching a coarse mesh past that precision.Behaviour change on the GPU renderer: large features (an Italy-sized polygon) already pass the f32 bound at about 1:500, so they now draw on the CPU there, and the country outline the GPU renderer used to drop at that zoom comes back.
Testing
cargo xtask ci: fmt, clippy, layers, 2,286 tests passed.cargo build --target wasm32-unknown-unknown -p rustgis-web.2:1,2.5:1,4/1; Auto scale-bar units; a 2:1 frame camera; layout frames at 1:20 and clamped at 2:1 (engine); animation interpolation past life size; a GPU scene at the deepest zoom draws a large square on the CPU with its edge in the right place (fails with the fallback disabled), and is still a mesh zoomed out.ui_shoton the World Atlas sample at the Austria/Italy border, 1:500, 1:1 and 2:1, CPU and GPU (RUSTGIS_GPU): before, the GPU frame at 1:1 was empty; after, both renderers draw the border through the centre with a 2 cm scale bar, and the status bar reads2:1.Related issue
