Adds docs/tronbrowser-conversational-ai-prd.md, the engineering-grounded companion to the product PRD.

What it does

  • Maps the product PRD's P0 items 1–7 onto the actual AI surface in this repo (with file:line evidence).
  • Leads with the pivotal decision: the AI surface is BYOK / client-direct today (providers.js calls providers with the user's own key), which is the opposite of the product PRD's "proxy through backend" premise. Almost every backend P0 (streaming proxy, cost caps, disclosure scope) is undefined until BYOK-vs-platform-key is decided.
  • Recommends shipping Phase 1 as BYOK (streaming already works; no backend/legal dependency) and deferring a platform-key cloud tier to a separate Phase 3.
  • Flags that the mandated day-one instrumentation collides with CLAUDE.md rule sh1pt: install vu1nz Security Scan (vu1nz-scan@1.0.0) #1 ("No telemetry by default") and proposes a local-first / opt-in reconciliation.

Key gaps documented

Persistence (history is in-memory, lost on panel close), Stop, regenerate, feedback, tables + syntax highlighting + per-code-block copy, real error/timeout handling, and provider-layer consolidation.

Sign-offs the doc calls out as blocking

  • Product + Finance + Legal: BYOK vs platform-key
  • Product + Privacy: instrumentation vs no-telemetry rule
  • Privacy/Legal: page-content disclosure (Phase 2)

Docs-only; no code changes.

Engineering-grounded companion to the product PRD. Maps P0 items onto
the current BYOK/client-direct AI surface, and leads with the
BYOK-vs-platform-key decision that gates all backend work.
