PX7 Markdown Viewer is a free native app for macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon and Intel. Open a local .md file to read it as rendered CommonMark and GitHub Flavored Markdown, preview Markdown directly in Finder with Quick Look, or press Command-E to edit the source and Command-S to save it.
Download the signed and notarized app from the PX7 Markdown Viewer product page or install it with Homebrew:

- Double-click an
.mdfile in Finder to open the rendered document. - Select an
.mdfile in Finder and press Space to use Quick Look. - Press Command-E to switch between the rendered document and Markdown source.
- Press Command-S to save source changes back to the same file.
