Keep this branch's side of XYChart.jsx and reflex-integration.md: main's reflex-dev#527 fixes the socket.io namespace wrapper that the channel data plane replaced. For the same reason drop the test it added for that wrapper (tests/test_reflex_socket_connection.py and its .cjs driver) along with the socket.io npm dev dependencies only that test used. docs/app/uv.lock is relocked against this branch's pinned Reflex commit.
The channel transport now opens a session only for a socket whose first frame is `_connect`, acknowledged with `_handshake`, as websocket.js already does on open. The data plane test client sends it before opening `/_xy`; without it the backend never linked the socket's token and every raw-websocket test timed out waiting for `_opened`. The new commit carries Reflex main up to 5ae5dcd5, which the docs app from main relies on, and drops python-socketio from the docs lock now that it is an optional Reflex extra.

A rebuild published its new generation through its own channel only, while a normal publish fans out through the registry's publish seam to every attached app. With two live apps serving one token, the other app's subscribers kept the old version and their hover, pick and selection requests were dropped as stale. Send the rebuild through the seam with an awaitable registry.fan_out, so a failed send still retracts the inserted generation; a channel used outside setup() has no seam and keeps serving its own room.
The handshake and channel-open waits ran out their five-second timeout when the reader had already stopped on a malformed frame or a socket the backend closed, hiding the cause, and a client that failed setup leaked its aiohttp session. Wait for the step or the reader, raise the reader's error or the close code, and close the socket and session on any setup failure.

…ywhere A rebuild's payload fan-out raised when any attached app failed, so the rebuild removed a generation the healthy apps' subscribers already held. Payload fan-out now raises only when no app received it and logs the per-app failures otherwise. The CI verifier read a step's name only from its first line, missing a name after a leading `uses` and quoted `name` keys, so duplicate step names went undetected. Step names are now read as direct keys of the step mapping.

Keeping a generation one app failed to receive left that app's subscribers on the old version, whose requests are dropped as stale. Each app that missed the payload now gets a resync err in its room, so its subscribers subscribe again; a resync that fails too is logged. The log lines name the figure token.

The channel port works end to end. I ran it against the bundled demo app (examples/reflex) at the PR head, with the pinned Reflex commit:
scripts/reflex_ws_smoke.pypassed every check. Exactly one backend websocket and no separate/_xysocket. All charts painted from binary frames. Density drill-down reached exact points, and hover round-tripped.appendpushes streamed. The cond/foreach remount subscribed live. All 27/kindscells painted.tests/reflex_adapterpassed (351 passed). The newtest_channel_browser.pyalso passed withXY_REQUIRE_BROWSER=1. ruff, ruff format and ty are clean.

news/505.*, but this is #513, and #505 does not exist. Rename them to513.*. - Stale socket.io wording. It remains in
spec/design/reflex-integration.md:483,python/reflex_xy/registry.py:523,docs/integrations/reflex.md:55anddocs/guides/serving-csp-and-offline-use.md:59. The user docs should also state the newtransport="websocket"requirement.

Blocking: this PR cannot merge while xy[reflex] points at a commit on a personal fork. Replace this git requirement with a real version floor once reflex-dev/reflex#6932 is released. Then remove [tool.hatch.metadata] allow-direct-references, the docs/app pins, both lockfile entries, and the "Unreleased dependency" note in spec/design/reflex-integration.md. Also restore [reflex] in the two sdist smoke installs in ci.yml.
Evidence: the newest Reflex on PyPI is 0.10.0, and it has no reflex/channels.py module. data_plane.py imports reflex.channels.MAX_MESSAGE_BUFFERS at module level, so with any released Reflex the data plane fails to import. Note too that the fork commit is not under reflex-dev control. If the fork branch is rebased or deleted, uv sync stops working for every contributor.

Spec drift: line 483 still says the handler "rechecks live Socket.IO membership after every await-heavy phase". After this PR, _is_connected checks the Reflex channel session (session.open in _sessions_by_sid). Update the sentence to name the channel session. CLAUDE.md treats spec/ as authoritative.
The same stale wording appears outside the spec. Fix these in this PR too:
python/reflex_xy/registry.py:523: thesubscribedocstring says "Socket.io remains responsible for room membership". The channel owns rooms now.docs/integrations/reflex.md:55: "attaches XY's binary data plane to the Reflex app's existing Socket.IO server". This user doc is also the right place for the new breaking requirement: the app must use the defaulttransport="websocket".docs/guides/serving-csp-and-offline-use.md:59: "its existing Socket.IO connection".
Repro: grep -rniE "socket\.?io" spec/ python/ docs/ --include=*.md --include=*.py on the PR head. Every remaining hit is one of these, apart from the intentional history note at reflex-integration.md:91.

Nit (optional): "Both transports" refers to the old socket.io/websocket split. Only one transport exists now. Suggested wording: "The channel handle queues sends made while disconnected (up to 64, flushed on open); never queue an old-epoch request that would arrive after a reconnect."

Nit (optional): this new test uses the deprecated positional form. Each run emits DeprecationWarning: positional reflex_xy.chart(source) is deprecated for live sources; use chart(figure=...) (twice). Use reflex_xy.chart(figure=token, height="240px") so the test that guards the transport does not also depend on an API scheduled for removal.
