Summary

  • The release security scan used go install gosec@latest (v2.29.0), which fails on the Go 1.27.2 toolchain: export data version 5 is greater than maximum supported version 4. The v0.4.6 tag run stopped there before publishing.
  • The step now runs golangci-lint v2.14.0 with --enable-only=gosec --tests=false (gosec on non-test code). This matches CI's lint job setup.
  • The gosec -exclude=G304 is dropped: the scan reports 0 issues with it not excluded.
  • Version bumped to 0.4.7 in Makefile, main.go, debian/changelog and CHANGELOG.md. v0.4.6 is already tagged but was not released.

Not in this PR

  • CI's Security Scan job uses securego/gosec with -no-fail, which hides analysis failures. Left unchanged.

Testing

  • go test -count=1 ./... passes
  • golangci-lint run --no-config reports 0 issues
  • golangci-lint run --no-config --enable-only=gosec --tests=false reports 0 issues
  • Workflow YAML parses; the step is verified locally only. The real check is the v0.4.7 tag run after merge.

go install gosec@latest (v2.29.0) fails on the Go 1.27.2 toolchain with
'export data version 5 is greater than maximum supported version 4', so
the v0.4.6 release run stopped before publishing. Run the gosec linter
through golangci-lint v2.14.0 instead, on non-test code.

Version bumped to 0.4.7 because v0.4.6 was tagged but not released.
