[Bug]: island - auto hide #1428

Bug Description
For the last 2 stable updates there has been an issue with the auto hide of the island. When I have "hide for status bar expand" enabled. Once the island unhides, the text of the island is black. Causing it to not be visible.
If fixes only after I open the extended view, but once I open the status bar and close it again, it causes the same issue.
Device is pixel 9 pro, running on the newest beta rom.
Steps to Reproduce
- Turn on "hide island when status bar expands*
- Open and close statusbar.
Expected Behavior
The text should remain white and visible

Please turn off the enhance dark mode setting. It's so broken and even breaks system apps such as some Pixel Launcher visuals. I don't know if skipping Essentials fixes this because in the past that filter was also broken.
Hope Google improve this feature soon.
