    Top-3 Priorities

    1. [MUST] Sync upstream v1.0.8 into main-speck - done when merge PR green + merged, upstream-sync: v1.0.8 available #128 closed (upstream-sync: v1.0.8 available #128)
    2. [MUST] Triage stale issues: close Daily Ops 2026-09-08 #121 (dangling daily-ops, 0 comments, 10d old) and upstream-sync: v1.0.7 available #126 (v1.0.7 superseded by PR Sync upstream v1.0.7 (satware-v1.0.7) #127) - done when both closed with rationale
    3. [SHOULD] Post-merge verification: privacy check + test suite green on merged HEAD

    Coverage

    • Fork drift: 94 behind / 21 ahead vs upstream/main; actionable delta is release tag v1.0.8 only (FR-001 release-only intake, per Daily Ops 2026-09-04 #120 handoff)
    • Not covered today: upstream/main commits beyond v1.0.8 (deferred - no pre-emptive upstream work policy)

    Preflight

    • Clean: venv present, single worktree, no concurrent-agent signals, disk 71%, privacy check green, HEAD c4fef9d4 == origin/main-speck

    Skills loaded

    • github (forge/stack: origin + upstream both on github.com)

    Skill gaps

    • None

    All 3 SOD priorities complete

    1. [MUST] v1.0.8 sync - PR Sync upstream v1.0.8 (satware-v1.0.8) #130 merged (702704c0), CI 13/13 green, upstream-sync: v1.0.8 available #128 closed. Release satware-v1.0.8+1 tagged + published (releases/latest verified). upstream-sync: v1.0.7 available #126/Daily Ops 2026-09-08 #121 triaged and closed.
    2. [MUST] Stale issue triage - done (see above).
    3. [SHOULD] Post-merge verification - full suite 8201 passed / 13 skipped, pre-pr 5/5, check-upstream-sync.sh: up to date with v1.0.8.

    Findings / outtakes

    • v1.0.7 release gap: PR Sync upstream v1.0.7 (satware-v1.0.7) #127 (2026-09-16) skipped the mandatory tag+release step (GitHub Releases lag satware-v* tags: v0.13.0/v0.15.0/v0.16.5 have no release objects #112). Backfilled satware-v1.0.7+1 retroactively on c4fef9d4 with --latest=false. Process gap: nothing in CI enforces the release step after a sync merge.
    • Process note: a filter-branch range mistake (0cc9a6a1..HEAD rewrites the whole fork lineage, not just the 3 sync commits) briefly broke the PR branch; rebuilt deterministically from main-speck + tag merge + cherry-picks before force-push. Lesson: revision ranges exclude only the named side's ancestry - the fork's own history stays in scope.

Remaining today: EOD handoff per protocol.

    EOD Handoff: 2026-09-18

    Objective

Sync upstream github/spec-kit v1.0.8 into main-speck (SOD priority 1), triage stale issues (priority 2), post-merge verification (priority 3). Full-day autonomous session under direct user go-ahead.

    Status

    • Completed: all 3 SOD priorities (verified)
    • In progress: none
    • Blocked: none

    Changes

    • specs/metadata.json: version/fork_version/project_version -> 1.0.8 / satware-v1.0.8 (verified)
    • .privacy-whitelist: +3 lines, file+content-anchored pattern for upstream RFC1918 test fixtures in tests/test_github_workflows.py (verified; privacy check re-run green)
    • Merge of tag v1.0.8 (upstream content, conflicts in CHANGELOG.md + pyproject.toml resolved to upstream side after zero-divergence check vs v1.0.7) (verified)
    • Tags/releases: satware-v1.0.8+1 (latest) on 702704c; backfill satware-v1.0.7+1 (--latest=false) on c4fef9d (verified via releases/latest)

    Verification

    • .venv/bin/python -m pytest tests/ -q: 8201 passed, 13 skipped (full suite, own-tree venv, on the identical tree that merged)
    • bash scripts/bash/daily-routine.sh pre-pr: 5/5 gates green
    • PR Sync upstream v1.0.8 (satware-v1.0.8) #130 CI: 13/13 checks SUCCESS, mergeStateStatus CLEAN pre-merge
    • betterleaks detect: 2193 commits, no leaks, exit 0
    • bash scripts/bash/check-upstream-sync.sh on main-speck: OK up to date with v1.0.8
    • EoD hook privacy check: clean

    Review Findings (Phase 1.5)

Day's fork-authored delta reviewed inline (6 lines; loading full review skills for a 6-line delta fails the smallest-sufficient-set rule; questions applied: ponytail/security/tdd):

    • [ponytail] whitelist pattern as tight as the false positive allows - keep (fixed scope, no finding)
    • [security] whitelist narrows scanning for exactly one fixture line - reviewed, acceptable; no new vuln surface
    • [tdd] whitelist behavior covered by re-run of check-privacy-leaks.sh + bats suite in CI; metadata covered by version-bump + provenance gates - no untested changes
    • [spec] sync followed specs/upstream-release-sync-strategy/spec.md steps; deviation found = release step skipped in the v1.0.7 pass (routed as issue process: no CI guard enforces the mandatory satware release step after sync merges (#112 recurrence) #131)

    Decisions

    • Conflicts to upstream side / rationale: git diff v1.0.7 main-speck showed zero fork divergence on both files / alternative (manual merge of fork entries) rejected - nothing to preserve
    • Rebuild instead of patch after filter-branch mishap / rationale: range 0cc9a6a..HEAD rewrote the whole fork lineage (revision ranges exclude only the named side); deterministic rebuild from main-speck + re-merge + cherry-picks, tree verified identical to the tested tree before force-push / alternative (rewrite the rewritten history again) rejected - higher risk
    • Backfill v1.0.7+1 with --latest=false / rationale: spec's backfill rule keeps latest on the newest release

    Known Issues

    • Push-triggered CI does not run on main-speck: upstream workflow files trigger push on branches ["main"] only; the fork default branch never matches. PR pull_request CI is the effective gate (standing pattern since fork, not a regression). Do NOT claim fixed; tracked as observation here.
    • filter-branch range pitfall: documented on this thread (progress comment) + spec-kit skill procedure uses tag-merge flow without filter-branch; no repo fix needed.

    Next Steps

    1. No open work. Next session: SOD re-checks upstream drift (next expected: v1.0.9) and CLI provenance.
    2. Triage process: no CI guard enforces the mandatory satware release step after sync merges (#112 recurrence) #131 (release-step guard) as capacity work - acceptance criteria in the issue.
