CAEL — Canton Agent Execution Layer

Open-source policy-driven execution and audit toolkit for AI agents on Canton Network.

CAEL makes it safe and straightforward for automated strategies and agentic systems to execute Canton workflows with institutional-grade controls: policy checks, deterministic simulation, and verifiable audit evidence generation.

Why CAEL?

Automated and agentic execution increases velocity — but introduces execution risk. CAEL reduces that risk by providing:

  • Policy-driven execution hooks — pre-trade / pre-settlement checks to enforce constraints before any action executes
  • Deterministic simulation harness — test any workflow before it touches the live network
  • Standardized audit/evidence module — verifiable logs of what was intended, what checks passed, and what executed
  • Reference implementations — reusable patterns for DvP-style settlement and token workflows on Canton

CAEL is designed as a public good: open-source, reusable by any Canton builder, and not specific to any single product.

Project Status
