[Ascend] Include Bisheng build identity in binary cache keys - #3691
The Ascend device binary cache omits compiler identity, so changing Bisheng can reuse an .aibin produced by the previous compiler when source, target and options stay the same. The installed CANN 9.1 and 9.2 compilers both report Clang 15.0.5 and the same revisions, but have different build times.
Approach
Mirror CUDA's compiler key field with bisheng version=<version line>. Query the selected bisheng --version once per process and retain its first line, including the build time and revisions. The build time identifies the compiler itself; package timestamp is not added as a second time source. Subsequent lines such as InstalledDir are excluded.
This applies to the AscendC tvm_ffi device binary cache. Existing binary entries miss under the new keys. The outer full JIT cache keeps its existing policy: an outer hit still bypasses compiler version checking. Compiler selection is assumed stable within a process, as in the CUDA implementation.
Validation
Fresh Release build with CUDA and Ascend enabled, using cmake --build build -j64.
24 tests passed across test_ascend_bisheng_version.py, test_tilelang_ascend_binary_cache.py, and test_ascend_bisheng_arch.py. Coverage includes a build-time-only change causing recompilation, reuse after switching back, installation-path independence, and version-query failures.
Ascend 950 / CANN 9.2: the existing mixed-width scalar kernel compiled through JIT, ran correctly on the NPU, and its device binary was reused by a subsequent callback.
Actual CANN 9.1/9.2 compiler probe: the same standalone source produced two separate cache entries, with one compilation per compiler and cache hits after switching back. This probe used vendor headers: the current full TileLang templates fail with CANN 9.1 on existing SIMD API and debug-template incompatibilities, so full JIT execution on 9.1 is not validated.
All pre-commit checks for the changed files and git diff --check passed.
Ascend device binaries currently share cache keys across Bisheng upgrades
when source, architecture and options stay the same. Mirror CUDA's compiler
field and query the selected Bisheng once per process. Preserve the version
line's build time and revisions, since different CANN releases can report
the same Clang version and revisions. Ignore InstalledDir and do not add a
second time source from package metadata.
Add regression coverage for build-time invalidation, installation-path
independence, memoized queries, and version-query failures. Document that
this affects the AscendC device binary cache; outer JIT keys are unchanged.
Validation: fresh Release build with CUDA and Ascend enabled; 24 focused
tests; pre-commit checks; CANN 9.2 JIT/NPU scalar-kernel smoke. A standalone
vendor-header probe compiled once per CANN 9.1/9.2 toolchain and reused each
entry on subsequent calls. Full current TileLang templates do not compile
with CANN 9.1 due to existing template/API incompatibilities.
The Ascend device-binary cache key now includes the Bisheng version line. A cached version-query helper retrieves and validates that line. Tests cover query behavior and cache separation across builds. The Ascend guide documents the cache key and its interaction with the outer JIT cache.

Summary
Bisheng version discovery tilelang/contrib/bisheng.py, testing/ascend/target/test_ascend_bisheng_version.py
Adds a cached query of the Bisheng --version output. Tests cover version parsing, installation-path differences, query caching, retries, and timeouts.
Adds the compiler value to the binary cache key and passes the Bisheng version from the Ascend backend. Tests verify cache reuse for the same version and separate entries for differing build timestamps. The guide documents cache inputs and how the binary cache relates to the outer JIT cache.

Set a finite timeout for the version query by default.
When TILELANG_COMPILE_TIMEOUT_SECONDS is unset, get_compile_timeout_seconds() returns None. If bisheng --version stalls, this call blocks indefinitely. The Ascend callback now makes the call before loading a cached binary, so even a cache hit can stall. Give the version query a finite default timeout, and update the test that currently expects None. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Based on learnings, a subprocess without an effective timeout can block indefinitely. As per path instructions, distinguish this new cache-hit failure from pre-existing compile-time limitations.
