BUG Meeting: BBTools for all your sequencing needs #6

Description

@kweitemier

The next meeting of the Bioinformatics Users Group will be at noon, Wednesday, Feb. 22 in ALS 3006.

Introduction to BBTools

Wouldn't it be great if there was one robust, well-supported and free suite of programs for (almost) all of your next generation sequence needs?
Well there is! Aaron Liston will provide an overview of BBTools.

From the website:
BBTools is a suite of fast, multithreaded bioinformatics tools designed for analysis of DNA and RNA sequence data. BBTools can handle common sequencing file formats such as fastq, fasta, sam, scarf,
fasta+qual, compressed or raw, with autodetection of quality encoding and interleaving. It is written in Java and works on any platform supporting Java; there are no dependencies other than Java (version 7 or higher).

I hope to see you all there.
