🟨 PlanetScale webhook signatures enter telemetry
On PlanetScale webhook requests, TracerHeaderFilter captures x-planetscale-signature. ApiObservabilityLive does not redact it, so exported spans retain webhook signatures.

exclude ResponseError values that have a cause so caused write failures are
handled as normal exceptions rather than anonymous rendered-response events.
Update the Cause.prettyErrors call to include nested causes in the stack, and
add a regression test verifying the underlying cause appears in the exported
stacktrace.

Restrict header capture before exporting spans.
When a request contains a credential in a custom header such as x-internal-session-token, constTrue captures its value. Effect’s default redaction names do not cover arbitrary custom headers. The same risk applies to the client filter on Line 25. Use a header allowlist for the required debugging fields, or configure redaction for every additional sensitive header before enabling capture. effect 4.0.4 records no request or response headers by default. Maple's Workers now record a short allowlist on server and client spans: host and forwarding headers (OAuth redirect URIs are built from them), content type and length, Cloudflare ray/IP/country, and vendor request ids and rate-limit state. An allowlist rather than everything-but-redacted, because outgoing requests carry credentials no redaction list knows (a customer's ClickHouse password goes out as X-ClickHouse-Key, and was recorded under effect 4.0.1). The SDK no longer anonymizes a ResponseError that carries a cause or description: that is a failed response write, a real error of its own.

- Drop cf-connecting-ip: an end user's address on every span is personal data, and cf-ipcountry is enough. - Record ClickHouse's query id, exception code and summary, vendor request ids (request-id, x-github-request-id), www-authenticate, cf-cache-status and the request's accept header. - runtimeTelemetry builds the SDK with the allowlist already in its layer, so a Durable Object runtime cannot forget it. - Effect lowercases header names before the filter, so no toLowerCase. - Tests: the server span through alchemy's bridge records an allowlisted header and no credential; each kind of failed response write keeps its own error.
Maple review🟢 Confidence 9/10 · safe to merge Restores an allowlisted set of HTTP request/response headers on Maple's Worker spans and stops the SDK relabelling a failed response write as a rendered 5xx. Contained to telemetry wiring; safe to merge.

Context
#1450 adopted effect 4.0.4's HTTP tracing defaults: spans are named by the bare method (
GET, nothttp.server GET), and no request or response headers are recorded. This PR accepts the new names and brings back the headers worth having.Change
MapleHttpTracingLive(@maple/infra/worker-telemetry) setsTracerHeaderFilteron server and client spans to a short allowlist:host,x-forwarded-host,x-forwarded-proto,origin,accept,content-type,content-length,cf-ray,cf-ipcountry,mcp-protocol-version. No client IP: an end user's address on every span is personal datacontent-type,content-length,cf-ray,cf-placement,cf-cache-status,www-authenticate,retry-after,request-id,x-request-id,x-github-request-id,x-slack-req-id,x-clickhouse-query-id,x-clickhouse-exception-code,x-clickhouse-summary,ratelimit*,x-ratelimit-*WorkerTelemetry(throughAlchemyTelemetry.layer, so the bridge's tracer reads it) andeventTelemetry. The three Durable Object runtimes (turn-runner,apply-proposal, chat-botrelay/run) build the SDK through the newruntimeTelemetry, whoselayeralready carries the allowlist.X-ClickHouse-Key(a customer's password) ended up in Maple's own telemetry, because no redaction list named it.ResponseErrorthat carries acauseordescription. That is a failed response write and keeps its own exception (review finding on the earlier version of this PR).Tests
worker-telemetry.test.ts: allowlisted request and response headers are recorded;x-clickhouse-key,authorizationandset-cookieare not.worker-bridge.test.ts: the server span through alchemy's bridge records an allowlisted header (cf-ray) and neitherauthorizationnorcookie. Fails without the layer.flushable-tracer.test.ts: a write-failureResponseErrorcarrying a cause, a description, or both staysHttpServerError. This test fails onmain.Done outside the code
