⚠️ Do not merge until gitroomhq/postiz-app#2281 is merged and deployed to production. Otherwise the docs describe a flag, an endpoint and a tool that do not exist yet.

Documents the opt-in adjust flag from gitroomhq/postiz-app#2281, which lets customers adjust uploaded media to the platforms' limits through the public API, the CLI and the MCP, like the web app already does for every upload.

  • public-api/uploads/upload-file.mdx: new "Adjusting media to platform limits" section (what changes for videos and images, the processing status, the original being used while processing and on failure, polling only with adjust, no effect on self-hosted instances without the media processor)
  • public-api/uploads/upload-from-url.mdx: the adjust body field, linking to that section
  • new public-api/uploads/media-status.mdx for GET /public/v1/media/{id}/status, registered in docs.json under Uploads
  • public-api/openapi.json: adjust on both upload routes, status on MediaFile, and the new status path
  • mcp/tools.mdx: uploadFromUrlTool (with adjust) and the new mediaStatusTool. uploadFromUrlTool was not documented on this page before.
  • cli/media-upload.mdx: upload --adjust and media:status

Companion: gitroomhq/postiz-agent#36.

Verified with mint broken-links (no broken links) and mint openapi-check (valid).

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in docs.json: Added public-api/uploads/media-status to the Public API Uploads navigation pages.
  • observed — Modified behavior in public-api/openapi.json: The multipart upload schema adds an optional string adjust parameter, defaulting to "false" and restricted to "true" or "false". Its description documents background media adjustment, output limits and formats, and status polling.
  • observed — Modified behavior in public-api/openapi.json: The URL-upload request schema adds an optional boolean adjust, defaulting to false, with the same adjustment and polling description as the multipart upload option.
  • observed — Modified behavior in public-api/openapi.json: A GET /media/{id}/status operation is added to describe polling by uploaded media ID. Its response documents processing, ready, and failed states, plus a warning when adjustment fails but the original is retained and an error when that original cannot be published; a missing media ID returns 404.

A post published while an adjusted upload is still processing uses the
original file, so the path is not usable right away with adjust.
