State the Fleet Standard for Script and Utility File Names - #3198
Conversation
Add a General subsection "Script and Utility File Names" to CODESTYLE.md carrying the agreed table, its clauses, and its stated departures. Add a Repo-Scoped Secrets bullet stating that a secret file's stem is lowercase snake_case, and point the python-codestyle Skill's module naming at the new section so the rule has one home. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Split the installed-commands and data-file sentences, move the three third-party links into an External group with -link names, and drop the claim that hyphens match a repository's existing scripts, which does not hold in every repository carrying the file. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The lead sentence said a repository never mixes conventions for one kind of file, which the section's own wrapper, installed-command, and externally-fixed exemptions contradict. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The wrapper exemption now covers only a launcher that keeps its extension, per the answer on #3199. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A launcher that keeps its extension, such as a Windows .cmd shim, is an installed command too once it is on PATH, so the wrapper exemption covers only a launcher run by its path. This removes the second answer the .cmd row gave for such a shim. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The Installed commands clause now covers every executable or launcher on PATH or in a system slot, keeping an extension only where the platform needs one, so it agrees with the wrapper exemption's PATH case. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

…ck to Main (#3203) - #3198 states the fleet standard for script and utility file names in `CODESTYLE.md`'s General section, with a pointer from `GOVERNANCE.md`. The `python-codestyle` skill carries the changed text as a generated include, so the installed Skills change at release. - #3202 extends `pr_review.py`'s vetted-but-unread check to the suppressed summaries. A layout that `suppressed_blocks` misses now reports an unread shape instead of `shapes=ok` with `suppressed=` short. The check now counts only the summary opening each block, so a block that runs into the next section no longer stands in for it. The cross-kind over-run the local review found outside that diff is #3201. Closes #3140 Closes #3193 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code)

Summary
CODESTYLE.mdcarrying the standard agreed in the issue: the per-type table, the installed-commands, wrapper, externally-fixed, and directories clauses, and the stated departures from the Google Shell Style Guide and Microsoft's approved verbs.GOVERNANCE.mdstating that a secret file's stem is lowercase snake_case, pointing at the new section.python-codestyleSkill's module naming at the new section, so the rule has one home, and regenerates the Skill distributions.Wording departs from the issue's text only where a gate or a carried reader needs it: long sentences are split for the sentence-length check, and the shell departure no longer says hyphens match "the existing scripts", since
CODESTYLE.mdis carried to repositories whose scripts do not yet follow it.Local-review findings
The precedence question this section listed was answered on #3199: any executable or launcher on
PATHor in a system slot takes the command name, and the wrapper exemption covers only a launcher run by its path. That landed in e1685da and the two commits before it.The one
introducedfinding the next pass raised, the "Wrapper exemption" restating the installed names incompletely (nofetch-report.ps1), is Fixed in b59b663: the bullet now gives one example and leaves the naming to "Installed commands". The pass over b59b663 recorded no findings, so no local-review finding is open.Verification
