Summary

NOTICE still named coretrace-concurrency-analyzer, the repository it was copied from in 86dca05, and dated the copyright from 2026, although this repository's first commit dates from April 2025. Apache-2.0, section 4(d), requires derivative works to carry the attribution notices in NOTICE, so a copy that followed the license credited another project.

Change

  • NOTICE names coretrace-stack-analyzer, dates the copyright 2025-2026 and gives the repository's URL, so every copy that reproduces it points back here.
  • It credits the CoreTrace contributors alongside Hugo Payet: three other people wrote code that is still here, and Apache-2.0 does not transfer their copyright. This is the wording that docs/licensing.md in CoreTrace/coretrace recommends.
  • CHANGELOG.md lists the change under Unreleased.

Not in this PR

  • The other CoreTrace repositories get the same NOTICE in pull requests of their own: coretrace, coretrace-compiler, coretrace-concurrency-analyzer, coretrace-runtime-analyzer and coretrace-python-analyzer. coretrace-log, under the MIT License, corrects the copyright line of its LICENSE.

Verification

  • No file in the repository reads NOTICE: scripts/check-license-compliance.sh checks LICENSE and the SPDX headers only.
  • The five commit messages pass scripts/ci/commit_checker.py.

NOTICE was copied from coretrace-concurrency-analyzer in 86dca05 and
still named that repository. Apache-2.0, section 4(d), requires
derivative works to carry the attribution notices in NOTICE, so a copy
that followed the license credited another project.
The first commit of this repository dates from April 2025, so the
copyright runs from 2025, not from 2026. With the repository's URL in
NOTICE, every copy that reproduces the file, as Apache-2.0 requires of
derivative works, points back to this project.
…pository

Redistributions of the analyzer must keep NOTICE, so the change is
listed under Unreleased.
Three other people authored code that is still in this repository.
Apache-2.0 licenses their contributions without transferring their
copyright, so NOTICE names the contributors as a group, next to Hugo
Payet, as coretrace's docs/licensing.md recommends. The history of the
repository that NOTICE links names them.
The Unreleased entry for NOTICE lists every change this branch makes
to the file.
